AIRCRAFT STAIRS GOT DAMAGE INJURING SIX PASSENGERS
Six passengers were injured when a set of airstairs collapsed at a Siberian airport.
Passengers were boarding a Ural Airlines aircraft in the Siberian city of Barnaul, which is 1,800 miles from capital Moscow, when the airstairs platform connected to the aircraft door crumbled.
The Airbus A320 aircraft was bound for Moscow Domodedovo Airport, scheduled to depart at 7.30am.
Four of the six passengers suffered “bodily damage to various degrees of gravity”, according to Russia’s Investigative Committee, and are currently in hospital.
Russian investigators are looking into the incident, according to the Investigative Committee of Russia, for not meeting safety requirements.
Surveillance video shows the platform of the mobile stairs collapse while passengers are boarding the aircraft via the forward left-hand door.
The aircraft eventually took off and landed in the Russian capital two hours late, according to flight data.
