A320 Incident Batik Air
Incident - Today, Indonesian Batik Air Airbus A320-214 , Regd. PK-LUT doing flight-6803 from Jambi to Jakarta with 117 pax. & 6 crew, returned to Jambi for an emergency landing with the NLG wheels turned 90°.
Cockpit crew decided to turn back from 3000 feet altitude after noticing a cockpit warning pertaining to Nose landing gear disagreement.
On landing roll after touchdown, the NLG gear dragged for a while producing fire, sparks and smoke from the nose gear before coming to complete rest , as the NLG wheels could not make rotation.
Luckily , there was No scenario of the Nose Landing gear collapse.
On flight ID-6803, Batik Air had six crew members, 114 adults, two children & one toddler.
Passengers disembarked onto the runway via stairs. Nil injuries .
This is not the first time , an Airbus A320 aircraft has undergone a NLG wheels 90° rotation to produce similar result.
