Best Tools for Aircraft Maintenance Engineers to Do Their Job on brake system
The Best Aircraft Maintenance Engineer Tools: The Complete List (and What They Do). Online Tools help to save time e.g. MEL calculator.
Hand Tools
Brake valves Helical gear indexing lever for block gauges Tools such as speed lines and speed gauges are made to be applied to the various gauges on each system. Usually, some of the gauges are held on with special pins or clips, while the others are attached to a rubber belt. Normally, the belts have both tension and equalization. A tension belt is pulled while the equalization one is pulled to hold the tension. The tension type tends to be shorter because the rollers are not fully inserted. Aircraft Towing Devices
The General Aviation Terminal Equipment According to the Telegraph's (UK) Andrew Farley, aircraft tow facilities "serviced more than 800 aircraft in 2014, as people reached increasingly remote airports, and pilots wanted tows from private aircraft for long landings and take-offs." But are the tow facilities as nice as they used to be? According to Nick Davies, many airports have already closed their own tarmac to accommodate small general aviation aircraft, or have ramp restrictions. All users are more aware of the laws requiring the least noise in the surrounding neighborhood, which can affect the response of facilities such as mooring equipment. Renting and Selling Aircraft: What To Expect Air Charter Service has discussed the status of renting out aircraft on their blog.
Aircraft Tugs
Pilots will probably need a tug to lift a small aircraft, or remove an entire aircraft from a bay. A tug will often have to perform two operations: lift the aircraft, and move the aircraft. To move a light aircraft, you will need a small tug with either a ramp or hydraulics. The tug will likely have a steering column and remote controls to operate. You will also want to locate the tow post, because the tug will be used to attach to a tow line. For small aircraft, we recommend the 2-Way Tugs T40L-2 and T40R-3, from Compustar. In our research, we found the 2-Way Tugs, both in the 42L and 46L sizes, have the best maneuverability. For larger aircraft, you will need a cargo tug with lifting capacity of 10,000 pounds or more. The Lockheed Martin 8-axle commercial cargo tug is a good choice.
Chocks and Dolly
Most often used for airplane idling, they are also essential for general aircraft maintenance. Chocks allow air pressure to be adjusted to the correct operating points so a pilot can continue an engine start when he realises the engine is not operating properly, i.e. low pressure. Once an engine reaches the correct operating point, the pilot will usually climb off of the ground. Dolly locks (also called trolleys, pegs, floats, finlocks, lanyards or tensioners) prevent a wheel from spinning when an engine is turned off. The wheel can rotate when the engine is running, but when it is off, the Dolly locks the wheel in the desired position and prevents it from spinning. Dolly lock (1):The pivot of the Dolly’s link is at the crankshaft pivot.
Cleaning Chemicals and Solutions for Dirty Engines
DEEX Stops Toxic Waste and maintains working condition of engine and prevent wear and tear on important engine parts. PFOA Freeze-dried Engine Oil 100% biodegradable. Polyacrylonitrile (PAN), Nonionic Degreaser, MAG-38, and MAG-42. Cleaning a Wanker. A small, safe, and common tool which removes wets, solvents, and other sticky deposits. Cleaning a Crack or Leak. Made from high quality stainless steel. Alum. Used to disinfect or neutralize metal surfaces. Aluminum plating. Etched ceramic.
Engine Air Filters
If you know the air filters correctly, it will save you a lot of money. Why you ask? They help to cut down CO2 emissions significantly. Conclusion These aircraft maintenance tools and resources are essential for all aircraft maintenance engineers. They help to streamline maintenance procedures, reduce costs and give a higher level of safety for your aircraft.
MEL Calculator
Locating parts and their dimensions in large construction documents is a key task for aircraft maintenance engineers. MEL excels at helping users identify and produce a good model of an aircraft part with extremely accurate dimensions. Material Graph Tool MEL's Material Graph Tool is a full-featured tool that helps users compare materials for aircraft inspections and reduce the time spent. Material Graph is one of MEL's favorite tools! Plan Tool MEL's Plan Tool is a great tool for aircraft maintenance engineers in ensuring the airframe and equipment are built to exacting specifications. It enables you to check the required materials and methods. Structural Composite Unit Tool The Structural Composite Unit Tool (SCUT) is a complete, up-to-date structural sheet model.
