Aircraft Maintenance Engineering and DGCA
Aircraft Maintenance Engineering (AME) is a specialized field that deals with the maintenance, inspection, and repair of aircraft. AMEs are responsible for ensuring that aircraft are safe and fit to fly, and they play a critical role in aviation safety.
In India, the regulatory authority for civil aviation is the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA). The DGCA is responsible for issuing licenses and certifications to AMEs, as well as setting standards and regulations for aircraft maintenance. The DGCA works closely with AMEs and other stakeholders in the aviation industry to promote safe and efficient air transportation.
To become an AME in India, individuals must meet certain educational and training requirements and pass exams administered by the DGCA. The DGCA also regulates the training programs offered by institutions and organizations that prepare individuals for careers in aircraft maintenance engineering.
