Hydraulic Quantity Indication

A320 Hydraulic reservoir over servicing issue

Some operators are complaining about recurrent need for hydraulic reservoir servicing.
– Most of the time, such reservoir level adjustment leads to delays because of maintenance check at the gate.
– Hydraulic fluid quantity is not compensated in temperature and flight crew request for maintenance even if the fluid quantity can be considered as normal in accordance with 12-12-29 AMM task.
- Indeed previously mentioned AMM task requests mechanics to adjust the fluid quantity in the reservoir depending on temperature but this fluid quantity offset or adjustment is not visible to the flight crew at the hydraulic System display page.

NOTE:
1- Hydraulic normal filling range based on fluid temperature 20 DEG.C
2- The hydraulic fluid volume in the reservoirs can change with the temperature. For each 10 DEG.C scale Celcius change in fluid temperature, The volume in the reservoir of the Green/ Yellow hydraulic system can change by 0.5 l (0.1321 USgal).
