ECAM MEMO MSG
Regulations requires cockpit crew to ascertain cabin security/readiness prior to takeoff or landing. Most airliners with Airbus aircraft choose verbal communication between cockpit and cabin crew for confirmation. However Airbus also provides an option called Cabin Ready Function.
The Cabin Ready function is used by the cabin crew to inform the cockpit crew about the cabin status. It can be activated via a pushbutton switch on the Flight Attendant Panel (FAP), and will be displayed in the cockpit on the Electronic Centralized Aircraft Monitoring (ECAM) display.
Installing/Modifying the Cabin Ready function may require several changes (FAP, CIDS Directors, Wiring, CAM re-programming) depending on A/C program and configuration.
The T/O MEMO is displayed on the ECAM either after two engines (A320 family) have been running for 120s, or when the T/O Config Test pushbutton is pressed on the ECAM Control panel.
In that case, when the ‘CABIN READY’ key is not selected on the FAP, the message ‘CABIN… CHECK’ is displayed on the ECAM. As soon as the dedicated key is pressed on FAP, the message ‘CABIN READY’ is displayed.
