Mistry of frame numbered 22 in Airbus

Share :

Did you know that the Airbus A320 has a total length of 37.57 meters (123 feet 3 inches) and is made up of 87 frames? These frames are numbered from 1-87, but there's something interesting about them.
It turns out that a frame numbered 22 is missing in all structural diagrams of the A320. While it may seem like a simple mistake, the truth is that the missing frame is actually intentional.According to Airbus, the frame was removed during the design process to allow for easier access to the aircraft's avionics bay. By removing the frame, technicians are able to more easily install and maintain the aircraft's electrical systems. This small design change may not seem like a big deal, but it's just one example of the careful planning and attention to detail that goes into building an aircraft as complex as the A320.
